Food Picker/Packer

Job Description

As a Picker Packer / Order Selector, you will play a vital role in our cold-storage distribution operations by selecting, packaging, and preparing high-quality frozen bakery products—including artisan breads, pastries, and baked goods—for shipment to commercial and retail clients. You will ensure every order is accurately picked, packed, and processed efficiently to preserve freshness and quality along the supply chain. Give us a call at 631-582-3807!

Key Responsibilities
Order Fulfillments & Picking: Locate, retrieve, and consolidate bulk frozen dough, par-baked goods, and finished bakery inventory across the distribution facility according to customer orders.

Technology & Scanning: Use RF handheld scanners, voice-picking devices, or warehouse computer systems to verify stock locations, log inventory movements, and ensure 100% order accuracy.

Material Handling & Transport: Safely load cartons and cases onto dollies, hand trucks, or automated conveyor systems to move items efficiently through packing zones and staging areas.

Packaging & Palletizing: Assemble shipping boxes, pack frozen bakery items securely to prevent temperature loss or damage, and tag pallets for outgoing transport.

Inventory Control & Quality Inspection: Inspect cases and product packaging for quality standards, perform routine cycle counts, categorize bakery stock, and apply proper inventory identification labels.

Physical Requirements
Ability to stand, walk, bend, crouch, reach, and lift up to 50 lbs continuously throughout an 8- to 12-hour shift.

Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, including cold-storage and freezer warehouse conditions (protective thermal gear provided).
