Job Description

Employment Specialist provides employment and career counseling, job preparation, job development, job referral and retention to Nassau Employment Initiative (NEI) participants.

Responsibilities:

-Conduct individualized assessments and provides vocational counseling
-Source job opportunities in Nassau and Suffolk Counties
-Establish relationships with staffing and temp agencies
-Create resumes and cover letters for clients
-Provide one-on-one career counseling and job preparation for program
-Provide post employment services to clients
-Work closely with Senior Vocational Case Manager in the recruitment of clients, collecting data, and helping to meet the program goals
-Attend community events to conduct outreach and engagement

Qualifications:
-Associate’s degree but Bachelor’s Degree Preferred.
-Three years of relevant experience (experience working with HIV population is a plus)
-Bilingual Spanish Strongly Preferred
-Ability to travel 25% of the time
-Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required

Salary: $51,000/year

Schedule: Hybrid Schedule: 4 days on site, 1 day remote
