Job Description
What You’ll Do:
Safely transport adults with developmental disabilities between their homes (Nassau & Suffolk Counties) and our Mill Neck campus for the Day Habilitation program.
Plan efficient routes and adjust for traffic or weather using GPS tools.
Build friendly, respectful relationships with passengers.
Keep the agency vehicle clean, fueled, and in safe working condition.
Record mileage, pick-up, and drop-off times accurately.
Follow all OPWDD rules and safety regulations.
What We’re Looking For
Required:
Clean, valid New York State Driver’s License
Strong communication skills and professional demeanor
Ability to pass a background check
Knowledge of American Sign Language (ASL) or willingness to learn
Preferred:
Experience working with adults with developmental disabilities
CPR & First Aid certification
